Case Study: DrDoctor
It's great how new projects come along randomly sometimes, we got a phone call on a Friday evening early Autumn, a lovely fella called Joe from DrDoctor, he'd been in Newcastle visiting and had seen our 6 Years Of AnyForty book in the barbershop we get our haircut in. Asked our barber for our details to chat about a project.
A few weeks later and we'd signed off concepts on an epic full wall mural we were going to set SPZero76 and his spray cans loose in the DrDoctor offices in central London. Over a wet weekend in November we came in, pulled two super long days and on Monday morning, the DrDoctor team were presented with an office mural they instantly fell in love with.
The idea behind the design was showing the invisible machinery behind the brilliant, hardworking healthcare service we have in the UK. We went for these mad ginormous cogs and pistons to symbolise the many important parts of the NHS machine, from porters to surgeons, and nurses to receptionists, each part is incredibly important and without them the machine would shudder to a hault. Big up our fine nations health services and big up the DrDoctor team who are doing incredible things by developing technology that will improve all our experiences of digital healthcare. Everything they do is focused on one thing: Building clever technology to help providers and patients work together for more effective care at lower cost. Absolute legends Read more about the project over at the DrDoctor blog here.

It's all about the finer details in SPZero76's work that really bring his murals alive

We absolutely adore the finish and texture you get with hand-painted murals using cans of paint. Our preferred paint is Montana94 just in case anyone from Montana's reading this and wants to cut us a discount on future jobs. Shy bairns get nowt and all that

This mural celebrates those whose work is invisible. Who work in the hidden bowels of the machine. For the countless cogs turning in the basements, porta-cabins and business parks. The invisible people who make our health service run. We salute you

This detail is a homage to a physical yucca plant that was purchased for the original DrDoctor office when the entire team consisted of only 6 members, now they are a growing team of 27 and the plant is still going strong

How every job should finish, with a well-deserved beer. Huge thanks to Rinesh, Joe and the entire DrDoctor team for such a great project and looking after us over the weekend. We had such a blast creating this for you all!
